Scheer Handrail Router FG 308

The SCHEER handrail router FG 308 enables the woodworking trade and industrial companies to build elegant handrails quickly and economically.

It essentially consists of a functionally designed baseplate with guide and contact pressure rollers onto which a powerful router motor is mounted. The router is positioned on the handrail or wreath, clamped by the trapezoidal threaded spindles and guided along the workpiece. The contact pressure rollers ensure that the router is firmly seated on the workpiece, and in particular, that every twist in the workpiece is allowed for and the correct profile cut is made. Two guide handles are provided for sensitive handling regardless of whether the handrail section is clamped edgeways or horizontally. Secure control is also required as the router turns partly about its own axis to follow the shape of the wreath.

Profile cutters approved by the German Woodworking Trade Association are available to suit the wood profile. These cutters, in conjunction with the high motor speeds, produce a clean cut, avoiding the need for adjustments and repeated reworking.

The tools are either available as a complete handrail cutter or as a spherical or rounding-off cutter. The handrail router can round off the top edge of the handrail and cut the lateral contour simultaneously in a single pass. If, however, a freedom of choice is required for the cutter, or if only the handrail top edge needs rounding off, then the use of the rounding-off cutter is recommended. The lateral contour can then, if required, be cut in a second pass with a special spherical cutter. In this way variations between the various cutters are possible.

Finally, the FG 308 handrail router can also be used for reworking existing handrails.
