 Designed
by Switzerland's leading stair builder, the Fankhauser Vacuum Press System has
been proven in the European Stairbuilding Market over the past ten years.
The Fankhauser system eliminates
handmade cages and clamp assembly of handrails and stringers. The Fankhauser system
is a series of eighteen vertical bars (height: 12 feet) that are held in place
between the floor and the ceiling by pneumatic pressure which serve as the form
(cage) for gluing stair stringers and handrails. Placement and distance between
the vertical bars are completely flexible, allowing optimal positioning for each
new job. With this system, you can assemble your form (cage) in twenty to thirty
minutes.
What is vacuumtechnic? The
vacuumtechnic stairpress uses patented vacuum bags that are available in a wide
range of sizes for large or small projects. Vacuum pressure is applied evenly
from all directions to produce a perfect curve. The advantages of Vacuumtechnic:
- Fast set up times - no nailing, screwing, bracing, and compensating
for warped lumber. (Cage assembly in twenty to thirty minutes.)
- Versatility
- The ability to make double radii and the ability to easily remove center uprights
for accessibility to the workpiece. You reclaim all your shop space in minutes
when the form is taken down.
- Superior results - When used in conjunction
with the vacuum system, the stringer or handrail blanks come out with smooth,
uniform curves with no flat spots that you get when using clamps. The parts are
laminated with even pressure from all directions - this can not be accomplished
with clamps of any type.
The Vacuum Press System comes with the
following: - Eighteen pieces of vertical bars and five clamps.
- One
standard size vacuum bag* which is 19 1/2" x 236"(This replaces the
hand clamps used to create the stringer or handrail). *Other vacuum bag sizes
are available.
- Vacuum pump.
